in the telecoms and energy sectors.
- We have particular expertise in regulatory matters and the Electronic Communications Code and Code Powers.
- To date we have assisted a total of 14 operators obtain Code Powers.
- We have particular expertise in the supporting calculations for Funds for Liabilities and the various ways of financing this.
- We have senior level contacts at Ofcom and the Office of the Telecommunications Adjudicator (OTA).
- On the radio spectrum, we have contributed to the consultations on the release of more 5GHz spectrum for Wi-Fi.
- We advised on the litigation flowing from one of the recent spectrum auctions.
- We are regulator contributors to workshops and materials of the Independent Network Cooperative Association, of which we are members.
- We undertake a range of business development functions for new network roll-out and implementation, including route planning and wayleaves.
- We have a particular specialisation in highly resilient data centre connectivity design.
- In the energy and data centre areas, we have undertaken studies in the use of Vanadium Reflow batteries for demand shifting and back-up and feasibility studies for biomass generation.
- We have access to a substantial range of existing optical fibre route data which allows the by-passing of the BT network for backhaul.
- We have undertaken detailed GIS based analysis for business network roll-outs to determine the incremental office coverage from additional street level build.
- We have expertise in alternative infrastructure for telecoms and pioneer the use of local electricity poles and ducts for fibre distribution.
- We have used the Access to Infrastructure Regulations to obtain access to pedestrian crossing ducts and electricity ducts.
- We pioneered “physical infrastructure access” whereby operators gain access to BT Openreach infrastructure.
