Just having a clear out and found these from 1989. AT&T’s acquisition of Istel marked the entry of US operators into the UK. BT did likewise with a US acquisition of Tymnet.

AT&T still has a Redditch office, last time I checked.

I was at Flemings and got the mandate, and wrote part of the memorandum. AT&T pipped Nynex to the post.
