I’m organising a dinner in May 2024 for the original contributors to the IEEE 802 Ethernet standard and also early optical fibre and equipment makers, with INCA.
The event goes under the modest title of “We changed the World”. Because we did. . .
I’m trying to track down people from BICC R&D White City who worked on first (1310nm) and second (1550nm) window fibre when I was there in the early 80’s. Also anyone involved in the Deeside Corning BICC fibre plant, again, in the 80’s.
